Pros and Cons of Army

The US Army is always a great career booster for those individuals who are determined to have a future ahead of them. However, it’s not always the greener pasture that we see. There are still some cons when joining the army. Here are some pros and cons that you can review, before making that ultimate decision to pack up your bag and go.

Pros

Joining the army is a always a good stepping stone that anyone who is eligible should take. They would provide all the necessities that you need from the beginning up to the end as long as you give your 100%, you won’t have any problems.

The US Army gives out amazing health benefits. Your wife and children are also beneficiaries. When you are in the army, there is always an opportunity for you to grow.

They have systematic promotions that take place, and you will be able to get what you think you deserve as long as you work hard for it.

Another good thing about joining the army is that you have opportunities to travel. Getting out of your own country and seeing new culture and places is always exhilarating.

If you want to continue your studies, the army also give you opportunities to study and will shoulder the finance for that.

And being in the army means you numerous days off.

Cons

Time away from the family is the main thing that most people have to think twice about joining the army. It’s a bullet that most of the men have to bite, and deployment may not be the most fun or hygienic experience one will have.

Once you start from scratch, details come to those who are lower rank however as you move up more brain power and less man power will be expected and asked from you.

The quality of job satisfaction entirely depends on the interaction with chain-of-command.

Joining the army will give you a start with your career; however, the pay is not as luxurious compared to a private sector.

That all being said you will always need to think deeply if the army is the path for you or not. Do not forget to ask a relative who has been in the army and they can give you better advice.
